The role of the EMT-Basic in Flight For Life Colorado is primarily to drive our two Denver-based critical care ambulances. Stationed at St. Anthony Central and The Children's Hospital, these ambulances are used for ICU to ICU, ED to ED and ED to ICU transports, and to assist or replace our helicopters in certain emergency situations, i.e., when weather prohibits flight. In addition to their ambulance responsibilities, our EMT's also assist the flight nurses and respiratory therapists in preparing patients for transport.
