Flight Chaplain

David Peters is our Flight Chaplain (part time). David began his work with the Flight program in April 2008 and he shares this work with his trauma/ICU chaplaincy at St. Anthony Central Hospital.

His primary responsibilities are to provide emotional and spiritual support to our crews and staff, and our patients and families with a focus on secondary trauma resiliency support. David accomplishes this by providing (1) continuing education presentations on topics related to the emotional/spiritual dimensions of critical care transport, (2) debriefings/defusings after traumatic transports, and (3) intake and referral services.

David came to Flight for Life Colorado from the Mission and Ministry Department of St. Anthony Central Hospital where has been a trauma/ICU chaplain since September 2008. David was ordained to ministry by the Presbyterian Church U.S.A. in 1975 and served parishes in Indiana, Illinois, Wisconsin and Colorado. He completed a Doctor of Ministry in pastoral care and counseling in 1988 and a one year Residency in Chaplaincy at St. Anthony Central Hospital in 2005. From 2005 - 2008, David served Donor Alliance as a Certified Tissue Banking Specialist/Tissue Donor Coordinator and as the Manager of Family Services.
