Flight For Life® Colorado is proud to present our keynote speaker, Colin Grissom, MD, an expert in wilderness medicine. Dr. Grissom, was an instructor for the Colorado Outward Bound School, climbed in Alaska, Peru and the Himalayas at Dhaulagiri and Makalu. He was invited by Black Diamond to help develop the AvaLung, which led to a 10-year research endeavor investigating the respiratory physiology and hypothermia mechanisms of avalanche burial, an area in which he has published. He has been the assistant medical director of Life Flight in Salt Lake City and helped develop a helicopter hoist rescue program.
